Conveniently situated at Unit 1c, Dawley Trading Estate, Stallings Lane, Kingswinford, DY6 7HT, this facility is adjacent to MAJ Electronic, and consists of two rooms. Katz 1 is 8 metres x 5 metres in size. Katz 2 is 10 metres x 4 metres, and is laid out differently to Katz 1. Our aim is to provide a clean, amiable, secure rehearsal facility for musicians, whether they be old timers (Sorry lads) or up and coming youngsters.

      GUITAR RIGS (3) – Choice of Ameson/Laney/Marshall amplifiers with associated Ameson Celestion loaded 4 x 12” speaker cabinets. Use your own guitar leads.
      BASS RIG - Ameson Mk IX 250 watt bass head with associated Ameson 2 x 15” Electrovoice loaded speaker cabinet and Ameson 2 x 10" plus HH CD500 horn mid/top unit. Use your own guitar leads.
      KEYBOARD RIG – MAJ Electronic PA1000 150W 5 channel KB amplifier with associated Ameson 115/8/CD full range cabinet.. Also for use with drum machines and backing tracks. Use your own input (jack or phono) leads.
      DRUMS - 5 shell TAMA Swingstar kit. Three cymbal stands. Bring your own CYMBALS and SNARE DRUM and sticks.
       
     

KATZ 2
     
     
This room has a drum riser at one end, and is ideal for cameo performances or shooting band videos.

RECORDING FACILITY
       
     
We now have a 2 track live Stereo recording facility in Katz 1
     
Recordings are made via two large diaphragm condenser microphones, via necessary processing, to an MP3 recorder with YOUR memory stick as the target media.
     
Cost is £10 per session in addition to rehearsal fee

      PARKING – Free large car park.
ACCESS - Easy, no stairs involved!
KITCHEN - Fridge/Kettle/Toaster/Microwave. Free Coffee, Tea, Soft drinks, and light refreshments.
TOILETS – Separate Ladies and Gentlemens toilets and washing facilities.
      HOURS OF BUSINESS:
      Monday – Friday: 7.30am – 10.00pm. Saturday & Sunday: 7.30am – 5.00pm
      TERMS AND PAYMENT:
      Katz 1 or 2 - £10 per hour. Payment only by cash, card, sheep, pigs, Lotus Elans, old Jags, etc.

Anyone coming in here gets ONE chance, and one chance ONLY. And that means YOU smartass.

Any nuisance/abuse/arrogance/attitude/nose pickin'/GUM/ make a mess, forget it you are not welcome.

We are quite happy to provide free refreshments for you but I'm dammed if I'm picking the up the wrappers from the floor.

NEXT:

If something fails it is not a great problem, but physically broken equipment/drum heads or any damage to the room caused by dicking around/inexperience/or just plain stupidity, you will be expected to pay for it - period - thats the deal. Do NOT try to hide something if it gets broken - the camera does not lie and it all comes out when we look at the video. Please do not be afraid to tell us of any genuine problems - we don't bite we and look at things sympathetically, especially with our younger rock stars... The most IMPORTANT thing TO US is that we need to know immediately of ANY problems so we can address them right away.

ALSO:

WE are frequently asked by local promoters for contact numbers for "good" local bands. With your permission we will pass your phone numbers on. NO commission, all part of the service. Sincerely hope you do well.

SECURITY AND SAFETY
     

The CCTV system is in operation 24/7, and records both rooms, kitchen, and the car park simultaneously.The content is not monitored or viewed and will only be referred to in case of any discrepancy or argument..

AND one adult must accompany any band with any members under 16 years old - and that means a mom or a dad or an auntie not your girl friends nearly 17yr old sisters half brother second cousin removed or a pal from school that has just got off the boat from China or Slovakia etc.etc. (Probably on a forged passport...)
     
 
     
All our equipment is correctly maintained and safety tested, and the ring main is earth leakage protected. Other equipment may be also be available. You may of course bring and use your own equipment. Do not connect your equipment to ours, in any way, unless you discuss first. (This is important - its your safety..)
